Green Card After I-130 Approval

Your I-130 is approved! Here’s a simplified guide for what comes next:

Inside the US?

  • Apply for adjustment of status (Form I-485) with USCIS.

  • Attend biometrics appointment and interview (if required).

  • Receive green card by mail upon approval.

Outside the US?

  • National Visa Center (NVC) takes over your case.

  • Complete additional forms and attend interview at US embassy/consulate.

  • Receive immigrant visa for travel to the US and get your green card.

Important Notes:

  • Maintain green card residency and follow US immigration laws.

  • Conditional green card for some spouses (married < 2 years) requires filing Form I-751 to remove conditions.

Remember: Follow USCIS instructions and stay informed for a smooth process.
